The Golden Tornado Scholastic Foundation, Inc., is a nonprofit, publicly supported organization that is exempt from Federal Income Tax under Section 501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code. Its primary purpose is to support the more than 8,000 students enrolled in the Butler Area School District through worthwhile projects that would not necessarily be funded by local taxation.

Projects completed by the Foundation include the replacement of seating and lights at Butler Senior High School Stadium during the summers of 1991 and 1992 respectively; the establishment of $20,000 in annual scholarships; and the completion of the stadium annex in 1996 in conjunction with the Butler Area School District. The Foundation has also contributed funds to the district's student loan fund. A $5,000 allocation has been provided annually to the teaching staff to fund creative teaching grants averaging $500. The Butler High School Alumni Association (established in 2000) is also a project directed by the foundation.
